The University of South Florida, the Virgin Islands Territorial Emergency Management Agency, USVI Department of Health, NOAA NWS, the Puerto Rico Science, Technology & Research Trust, and more are partnering to research the 2020 Hurricane Season within Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
This survey will be distributed, along with our regional partners and government leaders, to get an overall picture of how an evacuation event might play out this season.
With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, evacuation planning increases in complexity because social distancing is in direct conflict with human movement and congregation.
Emergency Management officials also need to understand with social distancing, has the public’s evacuation plans changed, possibly leaving people in harm’s way of storm surge if they do not comply with a mandatory evacuation.
Please help our emergency personnel giving
valuable insight during this difficult season. You can
